Smallville is an American television series created by Alfred Gough and Miles Miller. It told the story of a teenaged Clark Kent, and his life before becoming Superman. It premeired October 16, 2001 and ran for 10 seasons, ending May 13, 2011.
The series followed teenaged Clark Kent, originally Kal-El of the doomed planet Krypton. Clark arrived in Smallville in the year 1989, and spent his childhood and adolescence in the care of Martha and Jonathan Kent, two farmers who found him and raised him as their son. At a young age, Clark befriended Pete Ross and Chloe Sullivan, both of whom would become his best-friend. He also met Lana Lang, whom he quickly gained romantic interest in. As a freshman in Smallville High, Clark met Lex Luthor after saving his life, and the two became close friends.
Clark eventually joined the Smallville Crows and began to work alongside Pete and Chloe for the Smallville Torch high school paper. After learning the meteors that brought him to Earth began empowering the towns people, decided to fight off rouge mutants, whom were reffered to as "Meteor Freaks". Eventually, Clark learned of his origins, and made contact with Jor-El, his biological father, in the form of an A.I. with all of Jor-El's thoughts and memories. Clark also began to run into other Kryptonian beings, each of whom had a rivalry or friendship with Jor-El.
- Tom Welling as Clark Kent - The protagonist. Also known as Kal-El, The Blur and Superman. Clark is the last son of Krypton, raised on Earth by two farmers in Smallville, Kansas. Clark has god-like abilites which are granted to him by Earth's yellow sun.
